BOA I simply must know about the figure skating/protection detail fic 👀👀👀

so LA is hosting the All-American Adult Figure Skating Championships (made it up just for this fic) and up and coming pairs skaters Heidi Donovan and Isaac Davis have been receiving death threats for months in the lead-up to the competition, which culminates with Isaac being stabbed with his own skate outside of the rink where he and Heidi practice. the LAPD (read: Athena, who responded to the scene and kept Isaac alive until the paramedics showed up) starts investigating, and Heidi insists that the assailant had to be a fellow skater and the only person who can catch a skater is another skater. the plan is for Heidi to compete at the AAAFSC with an undercover cop as her partner, but finding a cop over fifty who can skate well in los angeles is more difficult than it looks. which results in this exchange:

“Anything I can do to help?” Athena scoffs and pours herself another glass of wine. “Not unless you know a male figure skater over fifty who’d be willing to go undercover.” “…Um,” Hen says. “About that.”

so!!! turns out Captain Bobby Nash of the 118 (who Athena has had a crush on for years but has never made a move; she has not dated anyone seriously since she and Michael got divorced) used to be a figure skater, is willing to go undercover, and Heidi Donovan turns out to be Bobby's old pairs partner Heidi Shatsky, who is delighted to see Bobby again (and vice versa). and Athena is not jealous at all.

cue - mutual pining! Bobby teaching Athena how to figure skate! and all the angst and drama a 9-1-1 fic can possibly have.

I was determined to use the drawing tablet to finally draw something, so i doodled this last night:-

I can't help but think that their fight is a liiiittle bit similar to that one concept in Naruto where Naruto and Sasuke attempt to understand eachother's feelings through their fists, hence Gojo was able to recognize Sukuna's loneliness and inability to understand love, and tried his best to convey his own emotions to Sukuna through the fight.

But on a more comedic note, Gojo has a thing for people who are able to kill him, and Sukuna's out here irritated, annoyed, and quite frankly, a little confused with the recent trend of people's obsession with trynna teach him about love. (Maybe he has made a mistake incarnating into this timeline????)

FFS the man is currently trapped within Yuta's ""True Mutual Love ❤"" Domain atm, its February and i think the next chapter's physical copy is releasing on Valentine's Day, whats with all of this symbolism!!!?!!

Thinking about ur 'Christians are fucked' posts for PJO and this is actually brought up in the sister series Magnus Chase. One of the characters is Muslim and just goes "yeah I can make this work" AND SHE DOES

To be fair, I don't think every Christian is theologically fucked if they find out their parent's a Greek god; the Christian Unitarian Universalists I know, for instance, have a level of theological chill I can only envy. You could walk up to them and invite them to a Flying Spaghetti Monster luncheon and they'd thank you for giving them the chance to explore new horizons lmao! Likewise, there are non-strict Christians who do their own things, lapsed Christians who are exploring their own way of moving forward, Christopagans who untie knots I can't even see head nor ass of, etc etc.

Specifically, the most fucked people would be hardcore monotheists: Catholics, probably, and highly conservative Christians whose theology only allows for a singly, omnipotent God. Because, like...fuck. There's a Greek god. That guy made you. That's not a saint, it's not Jesus...these aren't miracles. It's literally just a divine expression of power, in a world where you thought there was only the one, singular God. What the Fuck™

Yeah, everyone has their own views on the nature of divinity and its ability to affect the natural world, but if your thinking is limited to "there is only One holy Guy for literally everyone and everyone," you're going to struggle between a hard place of "completely inflexible thinking" and a rock-hard "absolute proof of another religion being right, or at least somewhat present in the world" lol.
